The NISSA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program is an 8-week structured training cycle led by Coach Barbara, black belt.

Open to women who want to start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or build strong fundamentals, this program offers a consistent weekly framework to develop technique, body awareness, and confidence in a focused and supportive environment.

Often described as “the gentle art,” Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focuses on leverage, control, and strategy, allowing you to defend yourself and overcome stronger opponents using technique rather than strength.

This is not a drop-in class.
It is a commitment-based program designed for progression.

faq:

  • Yes, absolutely. This program is specifically designed for beginners.
You’ll be guided through the fundamentals step by step, in a structured and supportive environment where no prior experience is expected.

  • We understand that schedules can vary. You can still follow along with the program, and the coach will help you catch up on what you missed.
However, since this is a progressive program, we recommend attending as consistently as possible to get the most out of it.

  • This is a no-gi class, so no uniform is required.

Wear comfortable, fitted athletic clothing (leggings or shorts with a t-shirt or long sleeve), and bring a water bottle. You can also bring a small towel if needed.

To ensure a safe training environment, please remove jewelry and tie your hair securely.

There are no shower facilities on site, so we recommend planning accordingly after your session.

  • Not at all. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is based on technique and leverage, not strength. You’ll build confidence and physical ability progressively at your own pace.
